Bad customer service. Unfriendly staff more interested in rushing you in and out the door because they over-book rather than take care of their seated clients. Would not recommend if you want to sit and eat in peace.
April 2007Bavaria restaurant , fondue night We went a party of 10 persons to enjoy European style restaurant like in the Apls. It was great couple of schnitzels, Swiss Fondue, Meat fondue, and wild game dish (Buffalo!!!).It was fun , with nice professional service. We will go back
On a Monday night, the third night of our one-week ski vacation at Whistler, we joined others in our group to dine at Bavaria. The restaurant was nice - good atmosphere, reasonably good service, nicely prepared authentic style German, Swiss and Austrian food. Everyone enjoyed the meal. Some shared a variety of fondues, three of us had Schnitzel. My wife and I were the only ones to eat the breaded veal cutlets (Wiener Schnitzel). By 5am that night, we were both violently ill - with diarrhea and vomiting that lasted through the next day. We had to stay in our hotel room for 2 days thereafter recovering. I was able to ski only one more day - my wife was so ill that we skipped skiing on our last day and took her to a local doctor. None of the others in our group became ill. We have had both food poisoning before on travels to south Asia. This seemed to be food poisoning, though we considered the possibility that it was a virus. We checked with the local health authorities and there was no virus rampant in the region. We went back to Bavaria later in the week and told the manager of our experience. He denied the possibility of food poisoning, and offered us a complementary dinner, though he would not refund our costs without a doctor's certificate of food poisoning. We did not accept because we could not bring ourselves to eat at the restaurant again. It is our opinion that we had food poisoning from the Bavaria meat or food handling - we missed most of our skiing week as a result of eating at this restaurant. Maybe it really was a virus - you can consider our experience and take your chances.
